Software Developer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Developer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Pennington, NJ or Plano, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a highly experienced senior resource to lead the redesign and modernization of a critical maintenance module. This role will be responsible for defining the target-state architecture, establishing the foundational design and technical framework, and driving key decisions that ensure scalability, maintainability, and long-term platform growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise and strong architectural leadership to translate complex business requirements into scalable, future-ready solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java based financial applications
• Build and manage data pipelines and messaging integrations using Apache Kafka
• Develop and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and schema designs for large scale Oracle databases
• Develop responsive user interfaces using React, Angular or Vue, integrating them with Springboot backend services
• Use complete React, Angular, or Vue tool suite to debug, scaffold, build, and test applications prior to deploying upgrades or new applications
• Collaborate with UX and UI designers to ensure intuitive and performant web applications are built efficiently with clean, secure code
• Utilize JVM and JDBC to write portable code that ensures secure access to databases directly to significantly boost application performance
• Deploy, configure, and maintain new and existing applications on both Windows Server and Linux platforms
• Write Shell, Python, or PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks, monitoring, and deployments of critical applications
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies as a member of a large scale, customer facing team
• Work with Business Analysts, Architects and Managers to document designs, APIs, and operational procedures for cross-team knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with other team members to improve reliability, scalability, efficiency, and performance

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Proven expertise on using Core Java 11 / 17 concepts with ability to rapidly learn other complex Java/J2EE technologies
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented design, microservices, and multithreading
• Hands-on experience with front-end technologies not limited to React, Angular, or Vue development
• Experience with JVM for a variety of database including Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB and Cassandra
• Solid knowledge of Oracle database development and optimization
• Development experience in Spark and Scala for functional or data-oriented programming
• Experience building and developing SPAs with React, Angular or Vue
• Able to deploy applications on Windows Server and Linux
• Experience in Shell, Python or PowerShell scripting for automation
• Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Java 11 Certification
• Experience with migrating applications to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Exposure to performance tuning and large-scale distributed systems

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
