Pay:
Junior-Mid $70.00 – $93.00 per hour based on experience
Senior $93.00 – $118.00 per hour based on experience

About the role

A corporate software development team is looking for a Software Developer to build and maintain applications that support its digital and AI initiatives. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design through production support, and help prototype new AI-enabled capabilities.

We’re hiring at junior, mid and senior levels. Pay and scope depend on experience.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and maintain software applications and enhancements
• Gather requirements and turn them into technical designs and working software
• Write clean, maintainable, tested code and take part in peer code reviews
• Build and consume APIs and integrate applications with internal systems and data sources
• Develop unit and integration tests; troubleshoot and debug defects
• Use source control and work with DevOps on build and release pipelines
• Support and maintain applications in production, including fixes and enhancements
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities
• Document designs, code and operational procedures
• Take part in agile practices such as sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives

What you need

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript or Java)
• Experience with the application development lifecycle
• Git and collaborative source control workflows
• Understanding of software design principles, data structures, relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with unit testing and automated testing practices
• Awareness of secure coding practices
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in an agile team

For Mid and Senior levels, also:

• Experience turning requirements into technical designs
• Experience supporting and maintaining applications in production
• Experience leading or contributing substantially to peer code reviews

Preferred background

• Development experience within software engineering or DevOps teams
• Otherwise, development experience at a technology company or in a regulated industry
• API and integration development
• Cloud platforms such as Azure
• Building applications that use AI/ML or large language model services
• CI/CD pipelines and containerization
• Front-end frameworks

Nice to have

• .NET / ASP.NET Core or Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django or Flask)
• React, Angular or similar front-end frameworks
• Azure services such as App Service, Functions or Azure SQL
• Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications
• Docker and Kubernetes
• SQL Server or PostgreSQL
• Azure Developer or similar certification

Experience levels

• Junior (0–4 years): builds features and fixes defects with guidance, using established patterns and tools
• Mid (4–8 years): designs and delivers features independently and may guide junior developers
• Senior (8+ years): leads design of complex applications, sets coding standards, mentors others and works directly with stakeholders

Work environment

• Able to safely lift up to 25 lbs and use stairs
• Travel: 0–5%
