What to Expect

Optimizing every aspect of automotive system design is vital to our success, making electric vehicles more efficient and accessible. This role sits at the intersection of software architecture and motor engineering. You will turn large-scale simulation and test data into better motors by building the tools to analyze it, the optimization workflows to act on it, and the AI agent workflows that let the wider engineering team build on it.

You will own software in the critical path of motor design: data pipelines, visualization, and comparison tools used across the organization. The role is based in Greece, in a team whose work has global impact on Tesla’s motors.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and optimize software tools for processing, comparing, and visualizing large simulation and measurement datasets (MATLAB, Python, SQL, and related languages)
• Improve the scalability and performance of our simulation and data infrastructure, including efficient data fetch and storage for high-volume engineering datasets
• Develop data-driven optimization workflows for electric motor design
• Build AI agentic workflows that let motor designers and engineers query simulation data, run analyses, and generate comparisons without writing code
• Own architecture and code quality end-to-end, using AI coding agents to move faster without handing off judgment
• Partner with motor designers, test engineers, and software developers to turn engineering needs into high-performance tools

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in software development, data analysis, or a closely related area
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB and/or Python
• Experience with SQL databases and large-scale datasets
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude, Cursor, or similar) in real projects, and the judgment to critically review and own every choice they make
• Clear, concise communicator
• Comfortable working in a multinational, cross-functional team
• Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Experience with numerical optimization
• Familiarity with electric motor design or simulation
• Experience with distributed or high-throughput computing
• Experience building LLM-based tools or agents (e.g., tool calling, agent frameworks, MCP)
