About the role 

We're looking for a QA engineer who takes ownership of quality, not just test execution. You understand the business goals behind a feature,anticipate risks before they reachusers, and push back when requirements are unclear.If you see quality as something you build into a product, not something you check at the end, this role is for you. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Own the quality of assigned products and features end toend: functionality, usability, and fit with business goals 

• Go beyond acceptance criteria to find edge cases, missed scenarios, and real-world userbehaviours 

• Test andmonitor critical flows (registration, forms, funnels, payments, email journeys) and flag risks before they escalate 

• Perform manual testing of web applications for functionality, usability, accessibility, and performance across browsers and devices 

• Test REST APIs andvalidate integrations with internal and third-party systems 

• Validate analytics and tracking (e.g. GA4, GTM events) on key journeys 

• Create andmaintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites focused on clarity and business risk 

• Report issues with clear reproduction steps, context, and impact 

• Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to clarify requirements and challenge incomplete logic early 

• Identify automation opportunities and contribute to building automated regression coverage 

• Improve QA processes, tools, and release practices across the team 

Basic Qualifications 

• 3+ years of experience testing web applications 

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and the SDLC 

• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how web applications work under the hood (HTTP, cookies, caching, client vs. server) 

• Confident with browserDevTools (elements,network, console, storage) for investigating issues 

• Experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman or Insomnia 

• Experience with Jira or similar bug-tracking and test management tools 

• Comfortable using AI tools to speed up test design and analysis, with the judgment to verify their output 

• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions 

• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a proactive mindset 

Would be beneficial 

• Test automation experience with Playwright or Cypress  

• Performance testing basics (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, k6 or JMeter)  

• Experience testing WordPress sites, including Multisite and high-traffic sites  

• Understanding of caching layers (Redis, Varnish, CDN) sufficient to reproduce and isolate cache-related issues  

• Ability to set up local or test environments with Docker or WP-CLI  

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how QA fits into release processes  

• Experience testing event, ticketing, or payment flows
