Summary

Strategizes, plans and implements music therapy (MT) interventions across the medical inpatient departments.  Ensures the therapies enhance physical, cognitive, social and affective development and support the goals and objectives of the patient.  As directed, participates in and provides direct supervision of MT students.  Participates in project planning and implementations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from college program with major in Music Therapy.

• Current board certified music therapist (MT-BC) or certified within 90 days.

• 3-5 years’ experience in delivery of Music Therapy in a Hospital based system

• Experience designing therapy plans for a variety of age groups, diverse cultures, and a variety of medical conditions

• ​Verbal communication skills required to lead music therapy groups.

• Written communication skills required to complete required documentation.

• Possess, or obtain within 60 days, BCLS
