Truck Drivers – CDL - DOT
Location: Odessa, TX
Type: Full Time
General Information/Job Summary
The DOT Truck Drivers will transport heavy equipment (forklifts, boom lifts, dozers, blades, and excavators) to and from locations, in and around major areas of oil and gas industry facilities.
Responsibilities/Competencies
- Transport equipment or material to customer locations using a variety of different trailers. (Floats, step decks, lowboys, van trailer, etc.).
- Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Maintaining paperwork is a must.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as Saulsbury’s policies and procedures.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, and violations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Hands on experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading. procedures.
- Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs. weekly), the majority of driving is performed locally.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
- Valid Class A CDL license.
- Heavy haul experience is preferred.
- 4 years of experience.
- Must meet all DOT requirements.
Safety Requirements
- On a continual basis, promotes anawareness ofenvironmental, health and safetypolicies to ensure a safeworkingenvironment andensurescompliancewithallaccompanypolicies
- Ability to pass drug testas mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drugprogram.
- Must attend and successfully complete SaulsburyIndustries safety training education.
- Attends safetymeetings and specialty training as directed by management.
- Attendsvarious training classes as may beassigned by management.
- Perform related duties andresponsibilities asrequired.
- Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing thework.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to see small detail.
- Ability to lift andcarry up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to reach below kneeswhile standing.
- Ability to stoop or kneel.
- Ability to work at heights.
