Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, people, and operational performance come together? As a Shift Manager in our fulfillment center, you will lead a team of associates through daily workflows, driving productivity while creating a workplace where every team member feels valued and supported. You will use data to make real-time decisions, coach and develop your team, and collaborate across shifts to meet ambitious goals. This is a role where your ability to stay calm under pressure, think critically, and motivate others will directly shape the associate experience and operational outcomes at Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of associates and process assistants by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and creating individualized development plans that support career growth.
- Drive a culture of safety by conducting thorough audits each shift, modeling proper safety behaviors, correcting unsafe actions immediately, and communicating safety expectations during huddles and one-on-ones.
- Analyze key performance metrics across multiple data sources to identify trends, diagnose root causes of issues, and implement process improvements that raise quality and productivity standards.
- Manage shift labor planning by forecasting staffing needs for varying volume scenarios, optimizing headcount through labor management systems, and ensuring consistent handoff processes between shifts.
- Collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners to share operational insights, align on site-wide goals, and support other departments during peak periods.

A day in the life
Your shift begins with a review of overnight metrics and a safety walkthrough of your area. You lead a team huddle, sharing performance updates and recognizing strong contributions. Throughout the shift, you move between the floor and your workstation — coaching associates on process standards, troubleshooting bottlenecks with your process assistants, and adjusting labor plans as volume fluctuates. You close the shift with a structured handoff to the incoming manager, ensuring continuity and flagging any open items.
