Lead Assessor (ISO 26262-2018/ISO 21448:2022/ISO 8800 (PAS)

Your Role

• PerformFunctional Safety assessments, audits, and compliance reviews across automotive development projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational quality objectives.
• Conductindependent confirmation reviews of safety work products, verifying compliance withISO 26262,ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and emerging automotive safety frameworks.
• Partner with customers, engineering teams, and stakeholders duringinternal and external safety assessments, audits, and technical reviews.
• Drive theidentification, tracking, and closure of assessment findings, ensuring timely resolution and continuous compliance.
• Provide expert guidance to project teams onFunctional Safety, SOTIF, AI Safety (ISO 8800), and safety lifecycle implementation.
• Contribute to the development, enhancement, and standardization ofsafety processes, methods, templates, and best practices.
• Lead and supportcontinuous improvement initiatives, enabling organizational maturity in safety engineering and compliance.
• Mentor and coach engineering teams on safety concepts, methodologies, and regulatory expectations to foster a strong safety culture.

Your Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (BE/BTech/ME/MTech) in Electronics, Electrical, Automotive, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry.
• 3-5 years of hands-on Functional Safety experience, including safety lifecycle activities, assessments, or audits.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in complex automotive development programs.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise inISO 26262 Functional Safety concepts, processes, and work products.
• Experience conductingFunctional Safety engineering activities, reviews, assessments, and confirmation measures.
• In-depth understanding of theAutomotive Development Lifecycle (V-Model, Systems, Hardware, and Software Development).
• Knowledge of safety analysis techniques such asHARA, FSC, TSC, FMEA, FTA, and DFA.
• Ability to evaluate safety compliance and identify process improvement opportunities.

Preferred Skills:

• CertifiedISO 190011 - Management System Lead Auditor

• Experience inFunctional Safety Audits, Assessments, and Independent Reviews.
• Understanding ofASPICE and its integration with Functional Safety processes.
• Knowledge ofSOTIF (ISO 21448) and safety considerations for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving.
• Familiarity withAI Safety (ISO 8800) and safety assurance concepts for AI-enabled automotive systems.
• Functional Safety certifications (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer/Professional) are a plus.
