Must-Have 1. 2+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow ATF or test automation in ServiceNow environments.
2. Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Request) and/or ITOM/HRSD modules.
3. Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes).
4. Experience creating and maintaining ATF tests, test steps, data inputs, and reusable components.
5. Strong understanding of ServiceNow configurations, UI policies, workflows, ACLs, catalog items, and form logic.
6. Ability to troubleshoot client/server-side script failures, test step mismatches, and workflow issues.
7. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working within iterative delivery cycles.
8. Experience with Git, branching strategies, and version control best practices.
9. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
10. Experience integrating ATF with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
11. Exposure to ServiceNow upgrades, readiness testing, and clone scrub testing.
12. Familiarity with IntegrationHub, scripted APIs, and testing of integrations.
13. Knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, or other test automation tools (bonus).
14. ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, or CIS – ITSM/ATF.
SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role
1 • Design, build, and execute automated test cases using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) for regression, functional, and smoke testing.
• Analyze business requirements and workflows to convert them into robust, reusable automated test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain modular test suites, leveraging test steps, client/server scripts, and reusable test components.
• Validate platform configurations, customizations, and integrations using ATF during major releases and ServiceNow upgrades.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and process owners to identify test coverage gaps and ensure quality across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and custom applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug failing test cases, analyze root causes, and drive continuous improvements in automated testing.
• Integrate ATF execution into CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated quality gates and deployment readiness.
• Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution reports, and upgrade validation results.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development and testing best practices, including coding standards and platform governance.
• Monitor platform enhancements and version changes to update and strengthen automated test coverage.
• Work with DevOps & QA teams to align automated testing with release cycles, sprint goals, and Agile delivery models.
• Perform performance and integration validations for workflows, forms, UI policies, BRs, ACLs, and custom components using ATF.
• Support manual testing when required while advocating for automation-first strategies.
