Job Summary
The ServiceNow SPM Development Lead is responsible for leading the technical design, development, configuration, integration, and deployment of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions. This role serves as the primary technical authority for the SPM platform, providing leadership to development teams while collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, functional consultants, and project managers to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in ServiceNow SPM modules, hands-on development experience, strong technical leadership capabilities, and a proven track record delivering enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations.

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow SPM solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers and administrators.
• Establish development standards, coding best practices, and governance processes.
• Review technical designs, configurations, and customizations to ensure alignment with platform best practices.
• Drive technical solution discussions and provide recommendations for complex business requirements.

Solution Design & Development

Design and configure ServiceNow SPM applications including:

• Demand Management
• Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
• Agile Development
• Resource Management
• Strategic Planning
• Investment Funding
• Innovation Management
• Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

Additional responsibilities include:

• Develop custom applications, workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and integrations.
• Configure Flow Designer workflows and automate business processes.
• Develop and maintain ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, and third-party APIs.
• Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow architecture principles and platform scalability standards.

Architecture & Integration

• Collaborate with enterprise architects to define solution architectures.
• Design integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems such as:
  • ERP platforms
  • HR systems
  • Financial systems
  • Agile tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
  • Data warehouses and reporting platforms
• Define data models and integration strategies supporting portfolio and project management processes.

Delivery & Project Execution

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning activities.
• Estimate development effort and support project delivery planning.
• Manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Coordinate development activities across onshore and offshore teams.
• Support release management and deployment planning activities.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 7+ years of ServiceNow platform experience.
• 3+ years leading ServiceNow development teams.
• Hands-on experience implementing ServiceNow SPM solutions in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Strong experience delivering end-to-end ServiceNow projects from design through deployment.

Technical Skills

• ServiceNow SPM implementation expertise.
• JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow scripting.
• Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
• REST and SOAP web services.
• Service Portal and Workspace development.
• Data migration and transformation tools.
• CMDB and ServiceNow platform architecture knowledge.
• Source control and CI/CD practices.

Preferred Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Strategic Portfolio Management (CIS-SPM)
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) – preferred
• Agile/Scrum certifications – preferred
