Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, execution and tracking of all individual development plans, mentoring assignments, structured shadowing experiences and stretch assignments for allLifeguards, Lifeguard Coordinators, Attractions Host/Hostess, and Attractions Coordinators roles  
  • Conduct detailed needs assessments and gap analysis related to operational performance, lifeguard certification standards, succession planning, understudy development and external apprentice program engagement; organize and execute appropriate methods of training
  • Audit and assess all training and certification needs; leverage key metrics and data to inform operational readiness, compliance, and developmental milestones; identify key trends and formulate detailed reporting, analysis and recommendations to Attractions and Recreation leadership on a weekly basis
  • Evaluate Attractions and Recreation performance, conduct weekly leadership meetings and verify strong operational and safety certification standards knowledge of the Attractions and Recreation Crew overall
  • Partner with Attractions and Recreation leadership to support Guest service/soft-skills training for other teams/departments, as needed
  • Create and conduct operational assessments and monitor results
  • Hold Attractions and Recreation leadership accountable and challenge thinking to ensure the overall training and development strategy is executed
  • Be fully certified as a licensed lifeguard and participate and facilitate all training and operational audits, including in-service training, re-certification, Lifeguard New Hire training, as well as attractions training etc.
  • Ability to be the first responder or an on-scene commander during emergency situations ensuring safe practices are consistently executed
  • Complies with the safety competencies, and all company policies and procedures
  • Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Stations and Emergency Functions Plan
  • SMS - uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas and operations under their control
