🚗 SERVICE ADVISOR

Jeff Wyler Hyundai of Beavercreek

PROFESSIONAL CAR WHISPERER WANTED.

Do you enjoy talking to people?

Do you know what a brake job is?

Can you smile while someone tells you their car is making“a funny noise” but can't quite explain what kind?

Excellent.

You may already have the basic qualifications to become aService Advisor at Jeff Wyler Hyundai of Beavercreek.

We're looking for afriendly, organized, energetic, and slightly unafraid-of-chaos Service Advisor to join our team.

Because let's be honest:

Cars are complicated.

Customers are complicated.

And sometimes both show up at 7:58 AM.

That's where you come in.

🎯 YOUR MISSION

Your job is to take a customer who says:

“I don't know what's wrong with it, but it sounds...bad.”

And turn that into:

“We've got it. Here's what we're going to do.”

You'll be the connection between the customer, the technician, the Parts Department, and Management.

Basically, you're thetraffic controller of the Service Department.

Except instead of airplanes, you're directing:

  • Cars

  • Technicians

  • Repair orders

  • Customers

  • Parts

  • Phone calls

  • Text messages

  • Coffee

  • And the occasional existential crisis

🔧 WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Greet customers with a smile and make them feel welcome.

  • Listen carefully to customer concerns.

  • Translate“It's making a weird clicking thing when I turn left” into something a technician can actually diagnose.

  • Write accurate repair orders.

  • Perform vehicle walkarounds and document customer concerns.

  • Recommend maintenance and repairs based on vehicle condition and technician findings.

  • Explain repairs in language customers understand.

  • Provide accurate estimates and communicate changes.

  • Keep customers updated throughout the repair process.

  • Coordinate with technicians and Parts to keep repairs moving.

  • Obtain proper authorization before additional work is performed.

  • Schedule future maintenance and service appointments.

  • Follow up with customers after service.

  • Build relationships that keep customers coming back.

  • Keep your cool when three customers arrive at once and the phone starts ringing like it's auditioning for a fire alarm.

  • Occasionally explain that“the noise stopped” does not necessarily mean the problem magically fixed itself.

🧠 THE SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Communication

You can talk to customers without sounding like a robot reading a repair manual.

Organization

You can keep track of multiple repair orders without needing to write everything on your hand.

Patience

Because sometimes customers have questions.

Lots of questions.

Confidence

You're comfortable explaining repairs and asking for authorization.

Urgency

You understand that customers generally prefer their vehicles back sooner rather than later.

Empathy

You understand that nobody wakes up excited to discover their car needs a $1,200 repair.

Humor

Because sometimes you have to laugh.

Especially when someone says:

“My check-engine light has been on for six months, but it seems fine.”

Qualifications

🚨 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Service Advisor or automotive customer-service experience required.

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.

  • Professional appearance and attitude.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to use computers, CRM systems, and dealership software.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, Parts, Sales, Management, and customers.

  • Willingness to learn Hyundai products, technology, procedures, and service recommendations.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU:

  • Have Hyundai experience.

  • Have automotive repair knowledge.

  • Can pronounce all the Hyundai model names correctly.

  • Can explain an alignment without drawing a picture.

  • Can handle a busy service drive without hiding in the Parts Department.

  • Know that “customer says it squeaks” is not technically a diagnosis.
