Description
Sprout Social is hiring a Workplace Experience Specialist, Technology & Front of House to join the Workplace Experience team in our Chicago office.
Why Join Sprout's People Team?Â
At Sprout Social, our People team builds the foundation that allows our global talent to power the future of customer connection. We are the champions of Sprout’s culture, ensuring that as we scale as a leader in social intelligence, our people remain our greatest competitive advantage.Â
We operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, driving impact across Talent, Total Rewards, People Operations, and Employee Experience. You’ll join a collaborative team focusing on world-class experiences that make Sprout a premier employer of choice. If you’re someone who wants to master your craft while helping others build careers they love, this is where you can make a lasting impact.
What you'll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Chicago office, staffing the front desk during core hours, greeting employees and visitors, and handling deliveries and mail
- Run a walk-up technology bar, resolving AV, hardware, and access issues in person and on the spot, so people get help without filing a ticket
- Keep conference rooms, huddle spaces, and event technology ready and working, including setup and first-line troubleshooting
- Manage badge access provisioning and visitor management systems across office locations, including regular audits
- Prepare desks, badges, and equipment ahead of new hires' first day, and handle equipment recovery on exit
- Maintain local hardware inventory and a loaner pool, and coordinate with onsite AV and facilities vendors
- Partner with IT on technical standards and escalations, reporting on-the-ground trends that inform how the broader team supports the office
What you'll bring
Sprout Social is looking for a hospitality-minded technologist: someone who brings genuine warmth and professional presence to a front desk while staying calm and capable under pressure. You're energized by solving problems face-to-face, comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical people without condescension, and just as happy fixing a display cable as greeting a visiting executive.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 2+ years of experience in front-of-house, hospitality, or hands-on IT/AV support roles
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting AV and conferencing hardware, displays, and endpoint devices
- Ability to work onsite at the Chicago office 5 days a week
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Experience with badge/access control administration or visitor management systems
- Basic networking literacy
- Experience supporting live events or streaming production
How you'll grow
Within 1 month, you will:
- Complete Sprout Social's new hire training & onboarding program alongside other new Sprout team members
- Partner with your manager to set initial priorities and define what success looks like at the technology bar and front desk
- Shadow the current team to learn daily routines: room sweeps, badge provisioning, mail intake, and common tech bar requests
- Learn Sprout's ticketing system and escalation path with IT
Within 3 months, you will:
- Be fully ramped on front desk and technology bar coverage, independently resolving common AV, hardware, and access issues
- Build connections with members from other teams through active networking and community building
- Establish a steady rhythm for room readiness checks, inventory audits, and vendor coordination
Within 6 months, you will:
- Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you'll discuss your accomplishments and build goals for your professional growth
- Be a trusted resource for day-one readiness, ensuring new hires consistently have working desks, badges, and equipment before they arrive
- Identify patterns in walk-up volume and share them with IT as a signal for broader improvements
Within 12 months, you will:
- Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to improve how the Chicago office runs, in ways we haven't considered yet
- Have a track record of strong first-touch resolution rates and positive visitor, candidate, and employee feedback
Of course, the above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs, and your manager may add other projects and tasks at their discretion.
