Title: Senior Veeam Engineer / Backup & Recovery Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid)
Duration: 2 weeks

Introduction

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled professional to support a customer environment and provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical expertise across their backup and recovery infrastructure. This role requires someone who can quickly assess issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions with minimal oversight.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

• Senior-level, hands-on Veeam experience
• Extensive experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex Veeam issues in enterprise or customer environments
• Strong understanding of backup, replication, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts
• Experience with Client and/or Hyper-V
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to urgent technical issues
• Active Veeam certification is mandatory (VMCE or higher-level Veeam certification)
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

• Broader Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Windows Server and/or Linux administration
• SAN and enterprise storage technologies
• Networking and data center infrastructure
• PowerShell or other scripting/automation experience
• Cloud backup and disaster recovery
• Azure and/or AWS
• Veeam Availability Orchestrator / recovery orchestration
• Experience supporting large enterprise or managed-service customer environments

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within customer Veeam environments
• Diagnose failed backup, replication, restore, and recovery jobs
• Perform root-cause analysis and recommend appropriate technical solutions
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Veeam Backup & Replication environments
• Support Client and/or Hyper-V environments
• Assist with disaster recovery, replication, and business continuity requirements
• Work directly with customer technical teams to understand issues and provide timely resolution
• Document troubleshooting activities, root causes, and recommended remediation
• Provide technical guidance and best practices around backup, recovery, and data protection
