Role title: Sr. QE Test Lead Overall — Oracle Fusion Transformation
Role Summary
The single accountable owner of test strategy and execution quality across the entire Oracle Fusion program — ERP, SCM, and HCM — spanning the Client’s internal QE team, offshore delivery pods, and the testing performed by the System Integrator.
The right candidate has personally owned testing on a full-lifecycle Oracle Fusion or comparable Tier-1 ERP/HCM implementation, knows where these programs fail, and will arrive with an informed opinion rather than waiting to be told what to build. This is the person who defines the test strategy before configuration begins — and who tells executive leadership when a release is not ready to go live.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and governance
•Own the Program Master Test Strategy and release-level test plans covering functional, integration, data conversion, security/SoD, regression, performance, UAT, parallel payroll, and cutover testing.
•Define entry and exit criteria for every validation gate — and defend them under schedule pressure.
•Own the defect lifecycle: severity definitions, triage cadence, SLAs, escalation, and root-cause analysis.
•Report test status and quality risk to program and executive governance forums, including honest assessment when the news is unwelcome.
Team and SI leadership
•Lead and mentor a blended onshore/offshore team of 12–15: QE consultants, offshore pods, test data managers, automation engineers, and performance testers.
•Own the testing RACI with the System Integrator; hold the SI to its contractual testing obligations and hold its deliverables to Client standards.
•Own test estimation and the QE resource plan by release, including offshore mix and ramp timing.
•Chair test readiness reviews and own the go/no-go quality recommendation.
Coverage, traceability, and compliance
•Establish and enforce traceability from business process design through test cases, defects, and controls.
•Ensure coverage across a large interface estate, enterprise data conversion, and SOX-relevant controls, with audit-ready evidence.
•Partner with process owners and workstream leads so scenarios reflect real operating conditions, not idealized happy paths.
•Own the test-side view of payroll cutover risk, including parallel run design and reconciliation criteria.
Tooling and sustained capability
•Select, configure, and govern the test management and defect toolchain, and set standards for authoring and evidence capture.
•Define the automation strategy and ROI case, explicitly designed to serve Oracle’s quarterly update regression cycle as a permanent capability.
•Help shape the QE function that will sustain the platform after the program ends.
Required Qualifications
•15+ years in software quality assurance / quality engineering.
•10+ years leading testing on large enterprise ERP or HCM implementations, including accountability for strategy and outcomes, not solely execution.
•Hands-on ownership of testing for at least one complete Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation (ERP and/or HCM) from design through go-live and stabilization. Support, upgrade, or post-go-live-only experience does not qualify.
•Track record leading testing on programs of comparable scale: multi-release, multi-pillar, 18+ months, blended teams of 10 or more.
•Proven experience managing a System Integrator’s testing deliverables from the client side — not solely executing within an SI team.
•Working knowledge of major SI delivery methodologies and how testing sequences against iterative configuration and prototype cycles.
•Expert-level test management tooling (Jira/Xray, Zephyr, qTest, ALM, Azure DevOps, Oracle Test Manager, or equivalent).
•Direct experience with enterprisedata conversion and migration testing, including reconciliation and sign-off methodology.
•Direct experience withintegration testing across a heterogeneous landscape of 50+ interfaces.
•Working knowledge of SOX ITGC, segregation of duties, and role-based access testing.
•Credible with VP and executive audiences, including delivering unwelcome quality assessments backed by evidence.
•Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Preferred
•PeopleSoft-to-Oracle Fusion migration experience.
•Experience in a complex, regulated, or 24/7 operational environment — airline, transportation, logistics, healthcare, utilities, or similar.
•Program experience that included apayroll implementation, particularly where pay rules were driven by collective bargaining agreements.
•Experience standing up asustained regression capability for cloud quarterly updates, rather than treating automation as a one-off project deliverable.
•Seattle-area based, able to be onsite for design workshops, playbacks, and go-live events.
