AsSenior Technical Service Technologist, East Africa,youwillprovideanoutstandingtechnicalcustomerexperienceand driveinnovationthroughingredientapplication,formulation, foodprocess expertise,andthedevelopmentofcustomer-centricsolutions.This rolereportstotheDirector,Technical ServiceandSolutionsDevelopment Lead EMEAandwillinitiallyoverseeone directreport,withresponsibility forleading asmall localTechnical Serviceteam. 

What you will do 

• Act asthe leadtechnicalcontact forassignedcustomersandkeyaccounts,buildingtrustedrelationshipsandproviding expertiseacrossinnovation, troubleshooting,costoptimization,and new businessdevelopment. 

• Leadandfurtherdevelopthe Nairobi IdeaLab,expanding localformulationandpilotplantcapabilitieswhileensuringproductquality, foodsafety,hygiene,regulatory compliance,andeffectiveoperations. 

• Lead, coach,anddevelopthe localTechnical Serviceteam, settingpriorities,buildingcapability,andaligningresourceswith businessobjectives. 

• Planand executecomplexapplicationtrialsinvolvingformulation,processdevelopment,andoptimization,with aprimaryfocusondairyandsavoryapplicationswhilesupportingothercategories asrequired. 

• Evaluatecustomerformulations,ingredients,equipment,andmanufacturing processesto diagnosetechnicalchallengesandrecommendpractical,science-basedsolutions. 

• Collaboratewithcommercialteams,distributors,suppliers,andequipmentpartnerstoidentifygrowthopportunities,advanceprojects,andcreatevalueacross EastAfrica,boththrough jointcustomervisitsandindependenttechnicalengagement. 

• Documenttechnicalactivitiesandprojectoutcomes,communicateresultsclearlytointernalandexternal stakeholders,share expertise,andcontributetocontinuousimprovementacrossproducts, processes,andapplicationtechniques. 
   

What you will bring 

• Adegreeorequivalentqualification in Food Technology, FoodEngineering, Food Science,or arelated discipline. 

• SeveralyearsofexperienceoperatingatSeniorTechnologistlevel inTechnical Service,productdevelopment,or foodapplicationswithinthe foodindustryorspecialty foodingredients sector. 

• Strongtechnicalknowledgeofdairyorsavoryapplications,includingingredientfunctionality,formulation systems, foodprocessing,andrelevantequipment. 

• Aproven trackrecordofdeliveringsuccessfulinnovationprojectsandprovidingtechnicalsupportdirectlyto food-industrycustomers,ideallywithin amultinationalorinternational businessenvironment. 

• Experienceleadingpeople,laboratoryactivities,ortechnicalworkstreams,togetherwiththewillingnesstotravelregularlytocustomersandpartnersacross EastAfrica,includingtraveloutside Kenya.
