The Space & Airborne (SAS) Center within Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. The Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) SAS Department supports integrating hardware and software, developing test plans and procedures, debugging and evaluating system functions and interfaces, and verifying system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will interface with the customers to develop the Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification and validation. The LCE Department focuses on back-end sustainment, repair design and sustainment development as well as transitioning systems through integration and test from production to warranty/sustainment.
You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system architecture, develop requirements, perform analysis and modeling, and support integration, testing, and flight activities across the full product lifecycle.This role is onsite in El Segundo, California.
What You Will Do
- Manage all engineering support activities related to Special Test Equipment (STE) Station Stand-up
- Create and update STE hardware requirements
- Support reviews of applicable STE hardware documentations (test plans, procedures, reports, I&T, V&V, etc.)
- Participate in Program Management Review (PMR) and Technical Information Meeting (TIM) meetings
- Review and approve Engineering Change Notices (CNs), Revision Notices (RNs), Retrofit Installation Drawings (RIDs), and Requests for Deviation Waiver (RDWs)
- Coordinate engineering staffing between the Program and Engineering Centers to complete the work defined in the Statement of Work (SOW)
- Participate in internal and customer Program reviews and meetings (i.e. SRiR, PDiR, CDiR, TRiR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Resolve and coordinate system technical solutions with the STE teams
- Provide technical guidance and support to STE IPTL
- Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
- Support associated with implementing process requirements
- Aid with the completion and submittal of Engineering Supplier Data Item Descriptions (SDIDs)

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis using Matlab, and configuration management
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Advanced Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Airborne Radar Systems.
- Programming experience in Python and MATLAB.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic or system-level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, and detection methods, Imaging/pattern recognition, Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation)Â

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
