About the Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer / DBA at JPMorgan Chase within the GTI Employee
Compute team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build,
and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and
scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for delivering critical
technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in
support of the firm's business objectives.
You will bring 10+ years of deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure,
including Availability Groups, performance, and resilience, while driving automation,
monitoring, and modern AI-assisted engineering practices. This role blends hands-on
operational ownership with architectural influence across the platform, working closely
with globally distributed and offshore teams to deliver around the clock.
Job Responsibilities
 Provide recommendations and insight on data management, governance
procedures, and the intricacies of acquiring, maintaining, validating, and using
data.
 Work with other team members, including offshore teams, to resolve high-priority
issues.
 Help manage GAIA application pools.
 Design and maintain robust software solutions for monitoring and alerting as
needed.
 Work with the team on database performance issues, including code and
infrastructure issues, sometimes using SQL Sentry.
 Help monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server Availability Groups, including but not
limited to replication issues, database failovers, and general troubleshooting.
 Work with the team on certificate tracking and renewals.
 Use AI tools and agents in day-to-day work to enhance productivity, automate
routine tasks, and accelerate issue diagnosis and resolution.
 Partner with offshore and globally distributed teams to ensure seamless
coverage, knowledge sharing, and consistent delivery across time zones.
 Support the team's on-call rotation.
 Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
 10+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise databases and
supporting infrastructure in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
 Extensive, deep hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly
Microsoft SQL Server.
 Extensive proficiency with Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
 Proven, in-depth experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting SQL
infrastructure, including Availability Groups (replication and failover).
 Substantial, in-depth experience with PowerShell scripting and ETL processes.
 Strong, demonstrated experience with database performance troubleshooting
and tuning, including tools such as SQL Sentry.
 Proven experience designing and maintaining monitoring and alerting solutions
at scale.
 Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including non-technical
business stakeholders and offshore teams.
 Experience with internal cloud applications.
 Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical
concepts to non-technical audiences.
 Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket for data.
 Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools in day-to-day work to enhance output,
automate repetitive tasks, and troubleshoot and resolve issues more efficiently.
 A forward-looking mindset toward AI-driven transformation, continuously seeking
opportunities to modernize workflows and improve reliability through emerging AI
capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
 Experience with SQL Server Availability Groups.
 Proficiency with PowerShell.
 Solid understanding of Transact-SQL.
 Experience with internal cloud application infrastructure.
 Experience with overall SQL troubleshooting.

 Experience working with offshore or globally distributed engineering teams.
 Experience with VS Copilot and Outlook Copilot AI agents, developing agent
MCPs, and building custom targeted agent profiles.
 Experience building agnostic agents.
 Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agents to write, debug, and
optimize code and automation.
 Track record of driving AI-led transformation initiatives that measurably improve
efficiency, quality, or reliability.
