Job Description

TheSenior Specialist, HR Communications, is responsible for developing employee and recruiting communications that strengthen employee engagement and talent attraction as well as reinforce the company’s Employer Value Proposition (EVP) – all with the goal of enhancing the employee experience. This individual supports communications for Talent Acquisition and Human Resources initiatives, reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications and Strategy.

This role requires a highly collaborative communicator who can partner across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, plant leadership and business functions to help create clear, engaging and impactful messaging for target audiences across the organization.

The position operates in a hybrid communications support model, with approximately:
  • 50% focus on Talent Acquisition and HR plant/function communications, including recruiting campaigns, workforce communications, employee relations messaging and operational HR initiatives.
  • 50% focus on culture and employee engagement communications/campaigns, including EVP activation, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and employee recognition initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition & HR Communications (50%)
  • Provide communications support to Talent Acquisition and HR teams for recruiting strategies and hiring campaigns across corporate and plant operations. 
  • Develop and update employer brand content for recruiting and retention efforts, specifically content for the Careers section of the corporate website and employer profiles on Glassdoor and Indeed. 
  • Draft job campaign content, employee stories, social media content, presentations, video scripts, and hiring event materials for recruiting.
  • Draft communications for workforce staffing initiatives for high-priority operational hiring needs.
  • Develop communication materials related to HR programs, policy updates, organizational changes, employee relations topics, and workforce initiatives.
  • Support HR leaders and operations teams across plant and functional environments in creating clear, timely and employee-focused communications.
  • Draft leader talking points, FAQs, presentations, newsletters and employee-facing content.

Employee Engagement & Culture Communications (50%):
  • Draft change management communications to strengthen employee engagement, culture and employee experience.
  • Provide communications support to advance recognition, engagement survey action planning, leadership messaging and culture initiatives.
  • Develop communications to help drive employee awareness and participation in engagement initiatives and company programs.
  • Identify opportunities to use communications to reinforce EVP messaging throughout the employee lifecycle and for candidate communications.
  • Work with ERG leads on annual communications planning and identify opportunities to raise awareness through communications. 
  • Review ERG communications for alignment with enterprise messaging prior to deployment or posting in X App.
  • Identify opportunities to use communication to share employee stories and initiatives that foster inclusion, connection and belonging.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Align communications messaging with enterprise communication content, standards and priorities, as well as company culture, values, employee experience, and business priorities.
  • Track engagement metrics to improve communication impact and reach.
  • Improve HR communications approaches to increase employee reach and engagement by optimizing existing channels and identifying opportunities to strengthen how HR information is communicated.
  • Support development of creative and multimedia communication content when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, internal communications, HR communications, employer branding, marketing, or related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both frontline and corporate employee populations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with a variety of social media platforms including how to develop differentiated content based on platform, technical and algorithmic differences and how to craft compelling content.
  • Experience writing for corporate websites.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, plant, or operational environments.
  • Experience with recruiting communications or employer branding initiatives.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement or culture initiatives.
  • Experience developing communication plans and campaigns for diverse employee audiences.
  • Graphic design or multimedia content development experience is a plus including videography and editing skills

Other:
  • Travel to recruiting events and plant locations: 20%

Salary: $85,000- $97,000. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
