Role summary

Platform Engineer Cloud Infrastructure Operations with 12 years experience owning reliability resilience and operational health of enterprise platforms on GCP and hybrid infrastructure Accountable for production readiness via strong NFRs monitoring and incident response vulnerability remediation and patching and robust backupDR Drives operational efficiency through automation and supports Kubernetes GKE services with strong Windows and Linux administration capability

Key responsibilities

Own service readiness and operational governance by defining and tracking NFRs leading operational readiness reviews and maintaining runbooksSOPs and other operational artefacts

Deliver reliability resilience and continuity through backuprestore and DR planning regular testing validation of RTORPO targets and driving remediation and improvement actions

Operate monitoring ing and observability to enable effective incident response major incident triageservice restoration RCA and problem management and continuous reduction of operational noise and instability

Lead security operations covering vulnerability management and patching across Windows and Linux OS and platform components prioritizing remediation by risk and producing auditready evidence

Run and improve GCP and Kubernetes GKE platform operations including cluster lifecycle upgrades node pools addons capacityavailability management troubleshooting workloads and release issues and applying cloud fundamentals IAM networking loggingmonitoring

Reduce toil through automation for operational checks patch orchestration reporting and evidence capture using PowerShell Bash Ansible and Python

Required skills experience

12 years experience in platform engineering infrastructurecloud operations SRE or production support with strong production support discipline incidentproblemchange management

Handson experience operating GCP infrastructure at scale with solid understanding of IAM networking and observability

Strong Kubernetes experience ideally GKE including cluster lifecycle management and troubleshooting

Strong Windows and Linux administration experience including patching troubleshooting and operational hygiene

Proven scriptingautomation capability using PowerShell Bash Ansible and Python

Experience producing highquality operational documentation and support evidence desirable IaC eg Terraform CICD for container platforms container security practices and working knowledge of Java for JVMbased service support
