- Do you like working alongside engineers, product partners, and business teams to find the right solution together?

As a Senior Software Integration Engineer, you'll be a hands-on builder on our Workday Integrations team, with a strong focus on Workday Extend. You'll bring hands-on Extend development experience and use it to build new employee applications, support and optimize the Extend applications we already run, and deliver the integrations behind them using Orchestrate, APIs, and Studio. You'll work closely with our Lead engineers and architects, contributing your ideas to technical direction while owning the delivery of your own solutions.

Role

- Take Extend applications from concept through the full application lifecycle, including documentation and ongoing support.
- Support and maintain our existing Extend applications, partnering with users and Product to resolve issues, respond to enhancement requests, and keep them reliable and secure.
- Optimize existing Extend applications for performance, usability, and maintainability, including refactoring, reducing technical debt, and adopting new Workday Extend capabilities as they become available.
- Create reusable components, shared services, and patterns that help our team deliver Extend solutions faster and more consistently.
- Evaluate new Workday Extend capabilities, prototype ideas, and share what you learn with the team.

Build and maintain integrations
- Develop and support integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, EIBs, REST and SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services.
- Apply sound integration patterns and development standards so solutions are secure, observable, and maintainable.
- Contribute to modernizing existing integrations through automation, AI-assisted development, and reusable components.

Collaborate and deliver
- Partner with Product Owners, Security, Engineering, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and translate them into well-designed technical solutions.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives, and help us keep improving how we deliver.
- Balance new feature delivery, Extend application optimization, technical debt reduction, and operational support to keep the platform stable and valuable.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews, offering feedback and learning from teammates.
- Help troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive lasting fixes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contractors through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Improve how we work
- Spot workflow bottlenecks and manual effort in Workday business processes and integrations, and help automate them using Workday, AI, and reusable services.
- Help us build repeatable engineering practices with CI/CD, monitoring, and standardized development approaches.
