We are seeking a Senior Software Integration Engineer for our client to support the integration and testing of real-time embedded software and hardware on combat vehicle systems. The selected candidate will collaborate with engineering and vehicle test teams, resolve complex technical issues, and mentor less experienced software engineers.
- Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components within combat vehicle systems.
- Build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
- Apply Ethernet and CAN bus knowledge to test applications and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported problems and analyze collected data.
- Support scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, security scans, and software verification testing.
- Mentor junior engineers in software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Ensure technical approaches follow established engineering principles and practices.
- Verify that product outcomes meet customer and company requirements for functionality, performance, processes, and quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Minimum of four years of software integration experience.
- Experience integrating and testing software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including packaging software as RPMs and binary executables and working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
- Ability to build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
- Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
- Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with current applications and technologies used in relevant engineering disciplines.
- Strong critical thinking and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop effective customer relationships and collaborate on technical solutions.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and work on combat vehicle systems.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with NI TestStand.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and combat vehicle functionality.
- Knowledge of Bash, PowerShell, Python, C, and C++.
- Familiarity with VxWorks or other real-time operating systems.
- Familiarity with military and commercial design standards, including MIL-STD-1553.
- Knowledge of UML modeling tools, DOORS, and CMMI for development.
- Familiarity with Qt Framework and QML for graphical user interfaces.
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP.
- Familiarity with Nessus and Coverity scans, system hardening, and STIG implementation.
- Familiarity with configuring and using virtual machines.

Pay Range: $58.00 - $63.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
