Senior Software Engineer – Java/JavaScript

Software Engineer – Java/JavaScript | 6-Month Contract

We’re looking for an experiencedSoftware Engineer for a 6-month contract focused on improving code quality, unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll work with existing Java/JavaScript applications, refactoring code where required to make it testable and building the unit testing capability around it.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop and maintainJava and/or JavaScript code

• Buildunit tests and test harnesses

• Refactor existing code to improve testability

• Build or enhanceCI/CD pipelines to incorporate automated unit testing

• Work within established software engineering standards

• UseGitHub Copilot to assist with unit-test generation and code refactoring

• Use AI tooling within defined engineering and governance guidelines

What we’re looking for:

• Strong Java and/or JavaScript development experience

• Solidunit testing and test automation capability

• Experience refactoring existing production code

• CI/CD and pipeline experience

• GitHub/GitHub Actions experience highly desirable

• Comfortable using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
