Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC

Salary Range: $62-$67/hr on W2

Introduction

Join our team as an experienced software engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering complex software solutions to achieve business goals. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week, with a potential contract-to-hire opportunity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working on high-volume applications.
• Proficiency in server-side frameworks like Spring MVC.
• Experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring Data JPA.
• Good understanding of SOAP web services with XML and JSON.
• Experience building RESTful web services.
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies like Handlebars, Vue, and ReactJS.
• Experience with XML and JSON binding libraries (jaxb, Jackson, gson, etc.).
• Proficiency in Unit Testing – Junit.
• Experience with GIT, Maven, Artifactory, Eclipse (or equivalent IDE).
• Experience with GIT distributed version control, branching/merge strategies, and Bitbucket.
• Experience with monitoring toolsets like Splunk, Dynatrace.
• Familiarity with MQ (Websphere MQ or ActiveMQ).
• Experience in performance tuning with a good understanding of JVM internals.
• Experience with Groovy.
• Experience in Object-oriented programming and concepts.
• Experience in Distributed System development using Java/J2EE/Web Technologies.
• Familiarity with Java design patterns.
• Experience with defensive programming and application security.
• Familiarity with Github Copilot, Claude code, Cursor, etc.
• Prior work experience in the client's industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Exposure to Agile Methodologies.
• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to diverse teams, including technical, business, and management.
• Good interpersonal communication skills for tech and business conversations – ability to work in a collaborative/team environment.
• Good analytical skills to break down requirements and solve complex problems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Ensure that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
• Code solutions, unit test, and ensure successful integration into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces.
• Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements.
• Participate and guide the team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
• Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in the design and development of client requirements.
• Assist the team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
• Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); analyze test reports and identify any test issues/errors; triage the underlying cause.
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
