Senior Software Engineer

About the role 

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Services Platform Team, a small group dedicated to creating impactful fundraising solutions for customers across the UK, North America and Australia. 

We are passionate about creating innovative digital experiences through a combination of platform technology, integrations and custom software development. Working closely with product, commercial and delivery teams, you will help shape and deliver solutions that generate customer value, unlock new opportunities and support some of the world's leading charities. This role forms part of a highly experienced, customer-focused team within a growing local business backed by a NASDAQ-listed company. 

What you'll be doing 

• Design, build and support custom websites, bespoke applications and APIs that extend and enhance our core platform capabilities 

• Identify and validate new product and service opportunities through rapid experimentation, prototyping and iterative delivery 

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept through to production 

• Partner with Product, Commercial and Delivery teams to deliver regional and global initiatives, campaigns and customer solutions 

• Support pre-sales activities by contributing technical expertise, effort estimation and solution design recommendations 

• Provide technical leadership across application design and architecture, driving scalable, maintainable solutions while promoting engineering best practices 

• Take ownership of the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, production support, security and operational excellence 

• Mentor and support engineers through coaching, code reviews, technical guidance and knowledge sharing 

What you need to bring 

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience usingReact, Next.js,TypeScript,Node.js, Express and JavaScript (ES6) 

• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS and modern web development principles 

• Must meet all minimum requirements for quality, security and operability 

• Experience designing, building and integrating with public APIs and third-party services 

• Experience working within agile software delivery teams and a commitment to continuous improvement 

• Experience using modern AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or equivalent technologies to accelerate software delivery 

Additional skills which would be useful 

• Experience with deployment tooling, CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices 

• Exposure to AWS and serverless application architectures 

• Experience delivering customer-facing projects and working directly with stakeholders 

• Understanding of modern UX, design and accessibility principles 

• Experience working with data, analytics and CRM platforms 

• Experience collaborating within distributed engineering teams 

• Experience in .Net technologies (C#.net)
