Senior Quality Engineer (QE)- Automation Testing

Location: GTA, ON

Salary Range: 50-55 INC

Introduction

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Quality Engineer with extensive experience in mobile and digital banking platforms. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in building quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring resilient, secure, and customer-centric banking solutions. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous testing, expand automation coverage across mobile and API layers, and enable the rapid delivery of high-quality digital experiences for our customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years of professional experience as a Quality Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or SDET embedded within a Scrum/Agile team.
• Mobile application testing (iOS/Android).
• Proven hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch using tools like Selenium, or Appium.
• Solid understanding of at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
• Strong experience testing REST (using Postman, SoapUI, or automated scripts).
• Proficiency writing SQL/NoSQL queries to validate backend data integrity.
• Practical experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) and Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Exposure to digital and mobile banking.
• Experience with performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker containers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and extensively execute complex testing for the end-to-end customer digital onboarding lifecycle.
• Design and execute complex end-to-end testing for critical downstream banking features.
• Partner with Product Owners and Developers during sprint planning and backlog refinement.
• Design, write, and maintain robust automated test suites across the application stack.
• Conduct strategic exploratory and UX testing for complex user journeys and scenarios.
• Maintain and optimize automated test runs within our continuous integration and delivery pipeline.
• Identify, isolate, and document bugs clearly. Work side-by-side with developers to debug issues and verify fixes.
• Drive a team-wide mentality that quality is everyone's responsibility, actively sharing best practices for cleaner code and better testing.
