Senior QA Engineer, Heating and Cooling role

At Fortum Power and Heat Poland, we’re moving towards renewable, clean and sustainable supply of heating and cooling. The energy system will be more complex and difficult to manage with traditional methods. To support this change, we are developing solutions to optimize heat energy system and deliver Value Added Services to our customers.

Adapting to the Customer needs, we are constantly improving our applications to increase customer engagement, simplify the e-processes and create new selfcare scenarios. As a result, we create new business opportunities and increase sales volume.

We are now looking for professionals to join our Heating and Cooling digitalization program. We’re executing development projects to create new digital solutions for the heating system and our customers, including: demand side response service, AI based solutions to optimize the energy system and data-based Value Added Services with Mobile and WEB front-end applications.

In this program you will be supporting development projects from very beginning and will have an unique possibility to shape the energy systems for a new era. In addition, you will have an active role in supporting innovation and businesses development in area of digitalization and product development.

As a team member, you will be working with Product Owners who are responsible for specifying and managing implementation of the product/solution features throughout the whole product life cycle. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Software Development teams and other cross-functional team members within the organization to ensure that our products maximize value of our customers and Fortum’s business.

About the role:

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance automated tests across multiple testing levels, initially focusing primarily on end-to-end testing.

You will use and enhance existing automation frameworks and tools, develop new solutions, and expand test coverage as the product evolves. The role also includes manual testing.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing practices, helping the team strengthen quality processes, increase automation effectiveness, and support reliable and frequent releases.

Working Model:

Hybrid model with 2 days per week in the Wrocław office.

Your role:

Test Automation engineer profile (1 person full time B2B contract)

Must Have:

• 4+ years of Test Automation experience (backend, frontend)
• Good working knowledge of TypeScript
• Good knowledge of Playwright
• Understanding of application code (backend, frontend)
• Configuration of development support tools (including CI / CD, AWS, Github Actions)
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Work closely with a development team to produce robust test cases and scenarios
• Conduct test automation reviews
• Strong understanding of testing principles, test design techniques, and quality assurance practices
• Experience working in Agile development teams
• Ability to analyse complex systems and identify quality risks
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Full professional proficiency in written and oral English
• Enjoys working in a multilingual/multicultural environment

Good to have:

• Familiar with microservices and event driven architecture (Kafka, Java/Kotlin)
• Experience with AI coding assistants
• Knowledge of BDD
• Performance testing
