About the Opportunity
SEE Civil is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of complex civil infrastructure and land development projects across the Ipswich region.This full-time opportunity carries end-to-end accountability for one major project or several related projects, from initiation and planning through delivery and close-out. You will lead Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers and broader project teams, with responsibility for financial performance, contract outcomes, safety, quality, environmental compliance and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Project Managers and project staff to achieve project objectives in line with SEE Civil's strategic priorities.
- Provide full project life cycle leadership across one major project or multiple concurrent civil projects.
- Oversee project planning, programming, construction methodologies, resourcing and delivery performance.
- Take accountability for project financial performance, including budgets, monthly assessments, forecasts, cost controls and operational reporting.
- Lead contract administration, scope changes, variation pricing, client negotiations and the resolution of contractual or technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, Australian Standards, project specifications and SEE Group Integrated Management System requirements.
- Coordinate employees, subcontractors, procurement, plant, equipment and other resources across the project portfolio.
- Drive safe, environmentally responsible and quality-focused project delivery, including the implementation of relevant management systems and accreditations.
- Build productive relationships with clients, consultants, councils, regulators, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Coach and develop project personnel, build team capability and foster a positive, collaborative and accountable work environment.
- Identify project and business risks, improvement opportunities and future work prospects that support sustainable growth.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- 5+ years of project management experience, including the planning and tracking of complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple civil construction projects while maintaining focus on priorities, deadlines and commercial outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practical experience delivering civil infrastructure, land development or related projects.
- Highly effective capability in contract negotiation, evaluation and administration, including specifications and Australian Standards.
- Proven leadership experience across multidisciplinary project teams and internal and external resources.
- Strong financial management, forecasting, reporting and cost-control capability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients, executives, senior leaders and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly effective planning, organisation, analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships, resolve conflict constructively and lead through changing priorities.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and ERP systems.
- Commitment to safety, quality, environmental responsibility, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Current driver licence.
