Russell Tobin is supporting a leading biotechnology organization with a hybrid contract opening for aSenior PV Clinical Scientist within the US Patient Safety team inSouth San Francisco CA. This role focuses on clinical review of adverse event cases, ICSR quality oversight, regulatory compliance, vendor management, and continuous process improvement.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical review and quality assessment of ICSRs and adverse event cases processed internally and by vendors.
  • Ensure accurate case processing and compliance with FDA, ICH, EMA, global PV regulations, and company SOPs.
  • Monitor case quality trends, identify vendor errors, assess compliance risks, and prepare quality reports.
  • Lead SOP updates, process improvements, regulatory impact assessments, and PV compliance initiatives.
  • Oversee adverse event follow-ups, safety database corrections, reconciliation, and regulatory submission quality.
  • Develop training materials, guide internal teams and vendors, support audits and inspections, and lead assigned projects.
 
Requirements:
  • Healthcare professional degree required (RN/BSN/MSN, NP, RPh, BPharm, PharmD, or MD).
  • 5–7 years of pharmacovigilance experience preferred, or equivalent clinical experience with strong PV regulatory knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of ICSR processing, clinical case review, FDA/ICH/EMA regulations, and global PV requirements.
  • Experience in medical/scientific writing, SOPs, quality reporting, and safety database operations.
  • Project management experience with strong analytical, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and attention to detail.
 
Additional Details:
  • Location model: South San Francisco CA (Hybrid)
  • Shift: Mon to Fri 8am to 4:30pm PST
  • Position Type: 06-month contract (potential to extend)
  • Pay range approved: $50/hr - $63.82/hr (depending on experience)
