Job Description:
Summary:
  • Responsible for administration, reliability, and optimization of Oracle database environments supporting enterprise applications.
Core Responsibilities
  • Administer Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/OCI, etc.).
  • Manage patching, upgrades, and lifecycle operations.
  • Ensure availability and resiliency (e.g., RAC, Data Guard where applicable).
  • Perform backup and recovery operations.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance and resource utilization.
  • Support production releases and deployments.
  • Implement security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and support incident response.
  • Collaborate with application teams on schema and query optimization.
Role Descriptions
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database environments.
  • Create and manage Oracle databases, tablespaces, schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and resource management.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and failover solutions.
  • Manage database security, user accounts, roles, privileges, and auditing.
  • Monitor database health, storage utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot database errors, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle networking components such as Oracle Net Listener and TNS.
  • Perform database migration, cloning, refreshes, and data movement activities.
  • Automate routine administration tasks using Shell Scripts, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Support application teams during deployments and release activities.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Multitenant databases (CDB/PDB).
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and organizational standards.
  • Prepare and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
  • Provide 24x7 production support and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Work with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams for database reliability and scalability.
Skills Required
  • Oracle RDBMS (on-premises and OCI/cloud exposure).
  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Unix Shell Scripting and text processing tools.
  • Unix/Linux basics and commands.
  • Oracle DBA.
  • Oracle HA/DR (RAC, Data Guard).
  • Performance diagnostics and tuning.
Essential Skills
Experience Required:
  • Overall Experience Required is 10–15 Years.
  • At least 10 years of experience, including work with 30+ TB databases handling 80,000 transactions per second.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database environments.
  • Create and manage Oracle databases, tablespaces, schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and resource management.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and recovery procedures.
