Senior Network Engineer (WAN / Cisco SD-WAN)

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise WAN and Cisco Viptela SD-WAN solutions.
• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN components including vManage, vSmart, vBond, and vEdge/cEdge devices.
• Design and maintain scalable routing architectures using BGP, OSPF, route-maps, prefix-lists, and ACLs.
• Configure and troubleshoot IPsec VPNs, site-to-site connectivity, and secure WAN communication.
• Collaborate with service providers and telecom vendors for circuit provisioning, issue resolution, and lifecycle management.
• Perform network performance analysis, capacity planning, and WAN optimization.
• Implement QoS policies to ensure application performance and traffic prioritization.
• Support network security initiatives including VPN security, segmentation, and secure access solutions.
• Create and maintain network design documents, HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in troubleshooting complex network incidents and lead root cause analysis activities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business-critical network infrastructure.

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN (vManage, vSmart, vBond, vEdge/cEdge).
• Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, route-maps, ACLs, and policy-based routing.
• Experience with WAN design, migration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of VPN technologies, IPsec tunnels, QoS, and network security principles.
• Experience coordinating with telecom/service providers for WAN circuit management and troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex routing, connectivity, and performance issues in large-scale enterprise environments.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Palo Alto Prisma Access SSE.
• Experience with SASE/SSE platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and secure access solutions.
• Exposure to network automation and scripting.

Certifications

Mandatory

• Valid CCNP Enterprise Certification

Preferred

• Palo Alto Prisma Access Certification
• Any SASE/SSE Certification

Required Experience

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in enterprise networking.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale WAN and SD-WAN environments.
• Experience working in global enterprise or managed services environments.
