Our client is seeking aSenior Mechanical Process Engineer (PE) to step into a high-impact leadership role with a clear path to executive leadership. This confidential succession-track opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines deep technical expertise with solid client relationship management, business development, and project leadership skills.

Job Type: Direct Placement
Location: Dayton, OH – Onsite
Pay Rate: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on experience, technical expertise, industry background, and overall qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and provide PE oversight on industrial process and mechanical engineering projects.
Lead design and execution of process piping, steam and boiler systems, milling operations, bulk material handling systems, utility plants, fermentation systems, and manufacturing process infrastructure.
Manage client relationships, lead technical discussions, conduct site visits, and develop proposals.
Oversee projects ranging from feasibility studies to multi-million-dollar capital investments.
Mentor engineering teams and support cross-functional project execution.
Partner with executive leadership to drive company growth, succession planning, and long-term strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
15+ years of experience in mechanical/process engineering within industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments.
Experience with process piping, steam/boiler systems, milling operations, and industrial process design.
Proven success leading complex engineering projects and working directly with clients.

Preferred Experience

Consulting engineering or design-build environment.
Food & beverage, agri-processing, biotech, chemical, plastics, commodities processing, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
Established client relationships and business development success.
