Here, you'll play a critical role in developing Modernized M-Code GPS Receivers for defense programs.Â

 Typical duties assigned to this position:Â
Lead mechanical engineering designs, development, integration/test, and production of military GPS receiversÂ
Generate 3D solid models, drawings, and documentation utilizing GD&T principlesÂ
Perform tolerance analyses to assure fit & functionÂ
Perform thermal, structural/stress, and modal/vibration analysesÂ
Assess designs against environmental requirementsÂ
Develop prototypes and conduct test and verification effortsÂ
Partner with other engineering disciplines and operations personnel to develop solutions that adhere to design to unit product cost (DTUPC), design for test (DFT), and design for manufacture (DFM) requirementsÂ
Support resolution of technical issues discovered during manufacture and test of deliverable hardwareÂ
Evaluate and troubleshoot mechanical faults and issues, assessing test failures for root cause, identifying disposition/corrective actionsÂ
Design test fixtures and equipment to ensure the performance and integrity of manufactured productsÂ
Participate in requirements development, performing technical trade studies, and evaluating technology insertion/upgradesÂ
Develop and execute test plans, which includes the integration of test solutions, and provide detailed reports on test resultÂ
Participate in new business captureÂ

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringÂ
- 3+ years (or 2+ years with MS ME) designing, testing, and troubleshooting high-reliability mechanical systemsÂ
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical principles, test methodologies, and the ability to work with advanced test equipment and cutting-edge technology
- Strong “hands-on” laboratory experience with instrumentation, equipment, and processesÂ
- ​​​​​​​Exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness A self-starter with hardware development experienceÂ
- Eligible to obtain a DoWÂ Security ClearanceÂ
Preferred Skills and Education
- 6+ years (or 4+ years with MS ME) designing, testing, and troubleshooting high-reliability mechanical systemsÂ
- Possess an understanding in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of materials, materials selection, design for vibration environments and the ability to apply those principles to unique mechanical design challengesÂ
- Experience with mechanical engineering tools for design and analysis, including ANSYS Workbench/Mechanical, MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens NX, ANSYSÂ
- Familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing standards associated with complex multilayer rigid and rigid-flex CCAsÂ
- Knowledge of engineering development processes for aero/defense industry, including designing and testing to ASTM, SAE, DO, MIL-STD-810Â
- Knowledge of Earned Value practices
- Experience with low rate initial production (LRIP) / FRP, especially electronics manufacturing and test methodologiesÂ
- Familiarity with AS9100Â / AS9145Â compliant processesÂ
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Active DoWÂ security clearanceÂ
