TheMilitary Aircraft Group is seeking aSenior Manufacturing Engineer – 5-Axis Milling to join ourPrismatic (Complex Milling) Manufacturing Group in East Aurora, NY. This is a high-impact role for a technically strong manufacturing engineer with deep expertise in complex CNC milling and process ownership.
In this role, you will leadnew product introduction,advanced process development, andcontinuous improvement initiatives for high-precision aerospace components. You'll work hands-on with complex milled parts while collaborating across engineering, operations, quality, and automation teams.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
- Lead development of manufacturing processes fornew aerospace components
- DriveDesign for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives across engineering teams
- Create, validate, and prove out5-Axis CNC programs, operation sequences, work holding concepts, tooling/gauge lists, and detailed work instructions
- Provide hands-on support to improveexisting production processes through shop-floor engagement
- Estimatetime standards, labor ratios, and economic run quantities for complex parts
- Generatedetailed cost estimates for new business pursuits and process improvements
- Evaluate, justify, and implementnew capital equipment and manufacturing technologies
- Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, operations, quality teams, and suppliers to resolve process issues
- Mentor peers and junior engineers; provide technical leadership
- Lead manufacturing engineering projects and potentiallyown the engineering scope of a dedicated manufacturing cell
- Support and optimizeautomated manufacturing cells to reduce labor content and process variability
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Education & Experience (any one of the following):
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with5+ years of relevant experience
- Associate degree with8+ years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma/GED with10+ years of proven professional experience
- Strong experience in5-Axis CNC Milling programming using CAD/CAM systems (NX preferred)
- Provenend-to-end process engineering experience (raw material to finished product)
- Hands-on machining experience, includingmachine setup and operation
- Expertise machiningaluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and similar aerospace materials
- Strong knowledge ofcutting tools, work holding, and fixture design
- Excellentcommunication, documentation, and technical writing skills
- Project management experience
- Proficiency withMicrosoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
