Managing procurement is a science. Managing procurement for Engineers is an art form. PAR Systems, a world leader in engineering intelligent solutions, is growing its Supply Chain team. Our focus on technology, quality, and new ideas extends beyond our products as we add diverse, dynamic, and dedicated people to our company.
Â
As Senior Manager, Supply Chain, you will direct and lead supply chain management and procurement for a highly custom, engineer-to-order business. You will oversee strategic sourcing, supplier and subcontractor management, category management, transactional purchasing, indirect spend, and the acquisition of project materials, equipment, machinery, and services - from large fabrications and machined parts to electrical components and complex assemblies. You will lead the team day to day while also shaping the supply-chain strategy needed to support the growth of PAR Solutions. The role requires someone who can dig into details, speak at a high level, make data-driven decisions, communicate across the business, and lead through changing demands with a collaborative, can-do attitude.
Â
Success Criteria:
Build a broader, more competitive supply base. Develop creative domestic and global sourcing options for larger and more complex part requirements, with a focus on reducing cost and lead time while improving capacity, flexibility, and supply continuity. Expand PAR's options beyond the suppliers we use today and match supplier capability to the needs of each business segment.
Â
Raise supplier quality and NQA-1 readiness. Build the supplier capability, qualification, documentation, and quality controls needed to support the nuclear and other highly regulated industries. Establish clear quality expectations, supplier requirements, and escalation paths while partnering closely with Quality, Engineering, and project teams to manage risk and protect customer commitments.
Â
Strengthen procurement and supplier-management disciplines. Lead category strategies, subcontract management, supplier development, supplier performance reviews, long-term agreements, make-versus-buy analysis, and negotiation.Establish procurement strategies that match the business need - using inventory or stocked purchasing when demand is repeatable and economical, and project-direct purchasing when parts are unique, customer-specific, high-value, long-lead, or require direct assignment and traceability. Bring the same rigor to indirect spend and transactional purchasing that is applied to project materials, while ensuring purchasing decisions support quality, delivery, total cost, and business priorities.
Â
Create efficient processes for a custom project environment. Simplify and standardize the work from supplier selection through purchase order, subcontract execution, delivery, receipt, and issue resolution. Use ERP systems, data, clear ownership, and practical metrics to improve visibility and execution without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. The goal is a supply chain that is responsive, scalable, and easier for Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to work with.
Â
Lead through partnership and develop the team. Build trust and credibility with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and suppliers. Be willing to dig in when the business needs hands-on problem solving, but also set direction, delegate effectively, coach leaders, and communicate the larger picture. Success requires strong listening, constructive challenge, timely decisions, and the ability to bring people together around practical solutions as priorities change.
