While this role is being recruited at the Senior Manager level, we welcome applications from both Senior Manager and Manager-level candidates. The final level of appointment will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, capabilities, and overall alignment with the role.

As a Senior Manager, Professional Practice Group (PPG) – Accounting Standards your responsibilities will include:
·         Provides timely, practical, solutions-oriented, technically sound and objective advice on the application of accounting standards when non-routine, complex matters are encountered
·         Researches and consults, both internally and externally, on complex accounting issues
·         Develops and presents professional development programs related to accounting standards (e.g. live courses, e-learning, web presentations)
·         Assists with the preparation of external and internal accounting publications
·         Develops and maintains client relationships with external clients and internal Doane Grant Thornton professionals
·         Supports the National Leader of Accounting Services in interactions with Grant Thornton International, other large accounting firms in Canada, and professional bodies
·         Teams with the other functional lines of the PPG, including: Practice Support, National Assurance Services and National Quality on various projects as part of the overall PPG mandate

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Manager, Professional Practice Group – Accounting Standards? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
·         Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation
·         Manager/Experienced Manager in a client-facing practice or professional standards role, preferably in a public accounting environment
·         Significant experience in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
·         Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), Accounting Standards for Pensions (ASPP) and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) knowledge will be considered an asset, but is not required
·         Proven top-notch technical and analytical skills
·         Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
·         Proven relationship and collaborative working skills
·         Outstanding organizational and time/project management abilities
·         Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

We’re serious about compensation.  We benchmark regularly across a wide spectrum of roles, industries, sectors, and levels to ensure our ranges are bothcompetitive and current. But we don’t stop there. We also consider theunique strengths, experiences, and impact each individual brings to the table. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $110,000–$143,000 in Toronto. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
