Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong Spring Framework experience and excellent analytical/documentation skills to support the Inventory Portfolio team. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing complex enterprise applications, documenting existing architectures, identifying improvement opportunities, and communicating technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications using Java and Spring Framework technologies.
- Analyze existing applications and systems using AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code to accelerate system understanding, analysis, and documentation.
- Document current-state system architecture, including:
- Logical and physical architecture diagrams
- Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs)
- Application workflows and dependencies
- Create and maintain operational support documentation, including:
- Production runbooks
- Troubleshooting and triage procedures
- System support guidelines
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Prepare technical recommendations and document proposed system enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders to understand existing solutions and define improvement strategies.
- Ask detailed technical questions to uncover system behavior, dependencies, and operational challenges.
- Present findings, recommendations, and technical documentation clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
- Strong understanding of Spring Framework and enterprise application development.
- Experience analyzing large-scale or complex software systems.
- Ability to use AI productivity tools (such as Claude Code or similar tools) for system analysis, documentation, and technical discovery.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience creating architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
