Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Program Director

Location(s): Troy, MI

Role Summary
The Senior Infrastructure Program Director leads the end-to-end delivery and recovery of complex infrastructure separation, divestiture, carve-out, and M&A integration programs. This role is accountable for integrating multiple infrastructure workstreams into a single executable program, maintaining a credible critical path, establishing measurable milestones, ensuring clear ownership, and implementing disciplined governance, scope control, financial management, and evidence-based reporting.

The successful candidate will combine strong infrastructure knowledge, hands-on program management, commercial judgment, and executive leadership. The role requires the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments, resolve cross-functional dependencies, drive timely decisions, and translate technical activities into measurable business outcomes while protecting operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program delivery across multiple infrastructure workstreams, including integrated planning, critical paths, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, financials, contractual commitments, and customer outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a single, baselined program plan covering Endpoint, Network, Hosting and Cloud, IAM and SSO, Cybersecurity, M365 and Collaboration, Service Desk and SIAM, ITSM and CMDB, monitoring, data center, application migration, and site migration activities.
  • Assess program delivery health, identify root causes and control gaps, establish corrective actions, and implement measurable recovery plans for at-risk milestones and workstreams.
  • Lead site migration readiness from discovery and design through build, testing, cutover, hypercare, and stabilization, ensuring technical, business, vendor, and operational dependencies are resolved.
  • Establish clear deliverables, accountable owners, target dates, entry and exit criteria, acceptance criteria, and objective evidence of completion.
  • Provide technical leadership to challenge designs, plans, assumptions, sequencing, and readiness, ensuring technical documentation is complete, consistent, and aligned with the separation strategy.
  • Establish program governance, including roles, decision rights, review forums, escalation paths, RAID management, action tracking, and a single source of truth across customer, internal, vendor, and advisory teams.
  • Manage statements of work (SOWs), assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and change control. Identify out-of-scope activities, quantify delivery and financial impacts, and drive timely commercial decisions and change requests.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, actuals, variances, vendor spending, milestone economics, and cost-to-complete. Align resource capacity, location strategy, skills, utilization, and deployment timing with program priorities.
  • Evaluate leadership, subject-matter expertise, architecture, project management, and local support capabilities. Address staffing gaps and establish clear accountability.
  • Identify and manage schedule, technical, readiness, resource, vendor, security, operational, and commercial risks. Escalate issues with supporting facts, business impact, options, recommendations, and required decisions.
  • Deliver concise, transparent, and decision-oriented executive and client reporting covering progress, risks, customer impact, recovery actions, and leadership requirements.
  • Build client confidence through proactive stakeholder engagement, realistic expectations, timely issue resolution, and visible leadership during workshops, executive reviews, readiness events, and cutovers.
  • Ensure successful transition to operations through complete documentation, formal acceptance, knowledge transfer, monitoring, recovery planning, support ownership, and defined stabilization criteria.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive technology delivery experience, including senior accountability for large, complex, multi-tower infrastructure programs.
  • Hands-on leadership of at least one corporate divestiture, carve-out, separation, or M&A integration involving significant infrastructure transition and operational continuity risks.
  • Demonstrated success leading or recovering programs involving executive escalations, unclear ownership, interdependent workstreams, compressed timelines, and significant customer scrutiny.
  • Strong experience developing integrated plans and critical paths across infrastructure towers and site migrations, including discovery, design, build, testing, readiness, cutover, hypercare, and stabilization.
  • Working knowledge of Hosting and Cloud, Networks, IAM, SSO, Endpoint, Cybersecurity, M365 and Collaboration, Data Center, Backup and Recovery, Monitoring, ITSM, CMDB, Service Desk, and SIAM.
  • Proven expertise in SOW development and interpretation, deliverables, assumptions, acceptance criteria, change control, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and resource optimization.
  • Ability to connect technical dependencies with customer impact, business continuity, schedules, costs, contractual exposure, and executive decisions.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex issues, communicate difficult facts constructively, and present clear options and recommendations.
  • Experience working with senior IT leadership, steering committees, architects, delivery executives, customer leaders, vendors, and third-party advisors.
  • Ability to travel periodically to customer and delivery locations for critical workshops, readiness reviews, and cutovers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, global site migration, or large-scale workplace transformation.
  • Advanced degree or relevant program management certification.

Leadership Profile

  • Delivery focused, with personal accountability for execution, issue resolution, and completion.
  • Technically credible, with the ability to challenge infrastructure plans, identify risks, and connect decisions across technology towers.
  • Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of scope, contractual commitments, costs, risks, change control, and delivery execution.
  • Executive ready, with concise communication, sound judgment, and clear recommendations.
  • Integrative and decisive, able to resolve ambiguity, connect workstream activities to program outcomes, and drive timely decisions.
  • Recovery minded, capable of diagnosing systemic delivery problems, implementing practical controls, and translating recovery commitments into measurable outcomes.
  • Composed under pressure, maintaining credibility and sound judgment during escalations, major cutovers, and customer-critical events.
  • Transparent and customer oriented, building trust through realistic commitments, early risk visibility, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
  • Hands-on yet scalable, willing to engage in technical and delivery details while establishing governance and accountability across the program.

Role Scope and Authority
The Senior Infrastructure Program Director is expected to challenge incomplete plans, require corrective actions, escalate unresolved cross-functional issues, recommend staffing and governance changes, and drive alignment across infrastructure delivery teams.

The role partners closely with account, commercial, architecture, security, operations, and infrastructure tower leadership while retaining end-to-end accountability for program integration, governance, and delivery control.
