Insurance

Summary of Essential Duties

The Senior Fleet Engineer analyzes deficiencies, develops cost effective and applicable corrective action plans to correct the deficiencies, and performs follow-up evaluations to verify that those corrections have taken place and have been effective.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering responses to fleet performance, reliability and safety issues
  • Review, prioritize, implement, and track prevention strategies (process improvements).
  • Review Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins
  • Develop cost effective correction action plans to address operational consequences and reduce the failure rates of the systems that are causing delays/cancellations giving high priority to safety and economic consequences that affect reliability.
  • Consistently strive to:
  • Reduce mechanical failures
  • Reduce delays and aircraft downtime
  • Reduce human errors
  • Reduce accidents and incidents
  • Reduce repeat discrepancies
  • Enhance troubleshooting techniques
  • Enhance reliability
  • Mentor other team members to enhance team engagement and share knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 23 years of age.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.

  • Must have experience and be highly proficient in cloud-based accounting systems as well as Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and related software.

  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history records check. 

  • Must understand, read, and write English.

  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.

  • Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.

  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others 

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbally delivered with tact and professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.

  • 3 or more years in Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance.

  • Ability to read and interpret FAA regulations, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation in English

  • Understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Programs, MPD’s, STC’s, and ICA’s

  • Adept at utilization of Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Work, Visio, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Maintenance & Engineering systems (such as TRAX or eMRO) is preferred

  • Analytical skills to evaluate findings and perform root cause analysis

  • Skilled at showing cost, benefits and project payback to proposed changes and/or modifications.
