Direct client Requirement:
Role: Senior Finance Manager – Corporate Accounting
Location: Chandigarh
Work mode: Work from Office.
Position Overview:
Client is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Senior Finance Manager – Corporate Accounting to join its global finance organization.
Based in India, the role will work closely with the Sydney Corporate Accounting team and support accounting and financial control across multiple client subsidiaries.
The role offers broad exposure across end-to-end accounting operations, including month-end close, journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting support, audit schedules, tax schedules and financial control across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their technical and operational finance experience within a global organization. The successful candidate will remain close to the underlying accounting and will be expected to prepare and review accounting entries, reconciliations and working papers, while gaining exposure to broader financial reporting, audit, tax and group accounting activities.
As Client's India finance capability grows, the role is expected to develop further, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities, support the development of finance processes and potentially manage and develop more junior finance team members over time.
Group audit, tax advisor relationships and overall Group reporting accountability will remain with the Sydney Corporate Accounting team, providing the role with the opportunity to work closely with and learn from an experienced global finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and support month-end close activities across multiple subsidiaries.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, FX and other month-end adjustments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are investigated and cleared on a timely basis.
• Perform general ledger reviews and investigate unusual or unexpected movements.
• Prepare supporting schedules and working papers for financial statements, Group reporting and statutory reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation and responses to audit queries, supporting the Sydney team during statutory and Group audits.
• Prepare tax schedules, reconciliations and supporting information for the Sydney team and external tax advisors during tax compliance periods.
• Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple jurisdictions and currencies.
• Assist with IFRS accounting matters and application of Group accounting policies.
• Support Indian accounting, statutory and compliance requirements.
• Maintain strong financial controls and audit-ready documentation throughout the year.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reconciliations, documentation and internal controls.
• Support and review work performed by junior finance team members as the India team grows.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Approximately 6–9 years of post-qualification experience, with strong hands-on industry experience.
• Prior external audit experience, ideally with a Big Four or other well-regarded audit firm, combined with meaningful post-qualification industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and practical experience with journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS.
• Strong understanding of Indian accounting, statutory and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting statutory audits and preparing high-quality audit schedules and working papers.
• Experience preparing financial statement schedules, tax schedules and supporting reconciliations.
• Experience working across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions is strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-currency and inter-company accounting would be advantageous.
• NetSuite or other major ERP experience would be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Key Attributes:
• Technically strong and highly hands-on.
• Strong attention to detail and financial control mindset.
• Able to manage multiple entities and competing reporting deadlines.
• Comfortable preparing detailed accounting work, not only reviewing it.
• Proactive in investigating and resolving accounting issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with finance teams, auditors and advisors across different countries and time zones.
• Willing to provide additional support during month-end, year-end, audit and tax periods where required.
Working Arrangements and Career Development
The role will work closely with client's Sydney Corporate Accounting team and should provide meaningful overlap with Australian working hours. Some flexibility will be required during busy reporting, audit and tax periods. As client's India captive finance capability develops, the role may progressively take responsibility for additional finance activities and team members, with opportunities to take on broader operational and leadership responsibilities. For a strong performer, there is potential to progress into a Director-level finance role as the function develops.
We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of all genders, races, ethnicities, abilities, and experiences to join our team and help us build a culture of belonging.
