Senior Enterprise Performance Engineering Lead

Location: Mostly remote, onsite in Middletown, PA for meetings.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Enterprise Performance Engineering Lead to define and drive performance engineering strategy for complex, enterprise-scale applications and integrations. This role will lead performance testing initiatives, establish testing standards, identify scalability risks, and guide technical teams in optimizing system performance, reliability, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall performance engineering strategy, standards, governance, methodologies, and best practices.

• Develop production workload models using historical performance metrics and anticipated business growth.

• Establish non-functional requirements (NFRs), service level objectives (SLOs), service level agreements (SLAs), and performance acceptance criteria.

• Lead performance planning for solution confirmation, PI planning, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live, and hypercare.

• Review solution architectures to identify scalability risks, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure constraints throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Provide technical leadership for capacity planning and infrastructure sizing recommendations.

• Lead performance testing across SAP BRIM, SAP Convergent Mediation, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, CRM platforms, middleware, APIs, batch processing, event-driven integrations, customer web portals, mobile applications, and IVR and chatbot platforms.

• Define enterprise load profiles for concurrent users, transaction volumes, billing cycles, payment processing, toll transactions, financial processing, and customer service operations.

• Review and approve performance test plans, scripts, workload models, and execution schedules.

• Define enterprise monitoring strategies across applications, middleware, SAP, databases, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.

• Analyze response times, throughput, resource utilization, JVM metrics, database performance, middleware queues, API latency, and infrastructure bottlenecks.

• Lead root-cause analysis with development, SAP, CRM, infrastructure, middleware, and vendor teams.

• Recommend application tuning, database optimization, infrastructure scaling, and configuration improvements.

• Validate system readiness for production deployment.

• Lead the implementation and administration of NeoLoad as the enterprise performance testing platform.

• Establish reusable scripting frameworks, automated performance regression testing, performance dashboards, and executive reporting.

• Present performance status, risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies to executive leadership and project governance boards.

• Maintain comprehensive technical and functional documentation, including designs, diagrams, test plans, scripts, impact analyses, lessons learned, and best practices.

• Follow applicable organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall IT experience.

• 8+ years of enterprise performance engineering and load testing experience.

• 5+ years leading enterprise performance testing initiatives.

• Expert-level experience with NeoLoad.

• Experience with SAP BRIM, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Convergent Mediation (CM), SAP Datasphere, CRM platforms, APIs, middleware, and enterprise integrations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• NeoLoad certification.

• Cloud certifications in Azure or AWS.
