Role OverviewÂ
Dodge & Cox is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Research Associate to join our team. The Senior Emerging Markets Research Associate will work with senior analysts and members of the Dodge & Cox investment team in identifying, researching and advocating for emerging market companies. Â

This is a two-to-three-year position, after which most individuals enroll in business school or pursue a career in investing. Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Researching emerging market companies that may be attractive investmentsÂ
- Monitoring portfolio investments, competitors, and industry developmentsÂ
- Building and maintaining financial and valuation modelsÂ
- Engaging with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts as requestedÂ
- Creating investment-related presentation materialsÂ

- High levels of academic and professional achievement and leadership abilityÂ
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Intellectually curious with a genuine appetite for understanding businesses and industries in depthÂ
- Comfortable working across time zones and cultures, and able to build productive relationships with external research partnersÂ
- Detail-oriented and conscientious, producing analysis of exceptional qualityÂ
- Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment with limited supervisionÂ
QualificationsÂ
- 2-4 years of combined experience working for an investment manager, investment bank, or a substantially similar experience. At least 2 years of experience doing fundamental company level research for an investment manager. Â
- Four-year college degree (B.A. or B.S.) with an excellent academic record that includes quantitative courseworkÂ
- Strong ability to collect and synthesize quantitative and qualitative dataÂ
- Knowledge of global equity markets, especially in developing economiesÂ
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and computer skillsÂ
- Experience applying AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to research workflowsÂ
The salary range for this position is $175,000k - $200,000k.
The listed pay scale denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration. Dodge & Cox encourages applicants to consider the value of the many competitive benefits it offers, including coverage of 100% of all healthcare premiums for employees and their families and fully funding a retirement plan at 25% of the total compensation to the IRS limit. Dodge & Cox also provides additional benefits such as commuter, health & wellness, backup care, matching gift, employee assistance, and life and disability insurance.
