Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role : We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The candidate should have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud and on-prem infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, Terraform, Bash scripting, Linux, Ansible/Puppet, Azure Cloud, GitLab CI/CD, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. He will play a key role in driving automation, reliability, and performance across our cloud environments
Key responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure on Azure Cloud using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Architect, implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, automating build, test, and deployment processes for multiple environments.
• Write and optimize Bash scripts for automation, system administration, and orchestration tasks.
• Configure and manage Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and uptime.
• Implement configuration management and automation using Ansible or Puppet for consistent and repeatable deployments.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions using Prometheus and Grafana or similar tools, ensuring system health and proactive incident response.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline processes and improve deployment cycles.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
• Stay up to date with emerging DevOps tools, trends, and best practices, recommending improvements as appropriate
Skills and qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, Helm, etc.). Experience with K3S will be an added advantage
• Strong proficiency in Terraform for IaC, including module development and state management.
• Advanced Bash scripting skills. Experience with other scripting languages (Python, Go) is a plus.
• Solid experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and/or Puppet for configuration management and automation.
• Proven track record of working with Azure Cloud services (AKS, VM, networking, storage, security, etc.).
• Experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with deployments using Helm.
• Proficient in setting up and managing monitoring/alerting with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with containerization, microservices architecture, and related security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator).
• Kubernetes CKAD/CKA certified.
• Knowledge of additional automation tools (Chef, etc.).
• Experience with logging solutions (ELK/EFK stack, Loki, etc.).
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
