Senior Dental Assistant/Receptionist - Maven Dental Maroochydore

Maven Dental Maroochydore is located on Plaza Parade and provides general, restorative and implant dentistry to patients across Maroochydore and the Sunshine Coast. Our team takes a personalised approach to patient care, helping individuals and families feel comfortable and well looked after.

We're looking for an experiencedSenior Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, providing support across both clinical and front-desk duties during periods of leave and busier times.

You'll work across both the clinical and administrative sides of the practice, supporting our dentists, oral health therapist, Practice Manager and front office team as needed.

From assisting with patient care and preparing treatment rooms to managing appointments and reception enquiries, you'll help ensure the day-to-day running of the practice remains organised and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing chairside assistance to dentists and supporting a range of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards
• Ensuring clinical equipment, instruments and materials are ready for use
• Welcoming patients and managing check-in and check-out
• Scheduling appointments, managing recalls and responding to phone and online enquiries
• Processing payments, HICAPS claims and health fund enquiries
• Maintaining accurate patient records and billing information with care and confidentiality
• Explaining treatment costs, health fund benefits and gap payments
• Supporting the wider team with daily tasks and helping maintain a smooth patient flow

As a casual team member, you'll be offered shifts across our opening hours. Availability across Monday to Saturday is important, along with the flexibility to assist with both clinical and reception duties as required.

To succeed in the role, you will bring:

• Previous experience in dental assisting, ideally with senior-level experience 
• Experience in dental reception or the ability and willingness to work across front-desk responsibilities
• Excellent communication and patient service skills
• Confidence using dental practice software and computer applications
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to adapt to a busy practice and support the team where needed
• Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilisation and clinical protocols
