Job Title: Senior Data Science & AI Engineer (Applied AI | Agentic Systems | Analytics-Driven)
Location: LATAM (Remote)
Aligned to U.S. time zones
Engagement Model
Initial 2-month contract with strong intent to extend into a 12-month engagement
Embedded within a Data & AI Product POD

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Science & AI Engineer who began their career as a Data Scientist and has since evolved into an AI Engineer capable of building and operationalizing intelligent systems.
This role sits at the intersection of statistical thinking, data engineering, analytics, and Agentic AI. You will design models, engineer features, and deploy AI systems that reason over data, BI metrics, and business signals — not just notebooks or experiments.
The ideal candidate understands why the model works, how the data behaves, and how to ship AI into production.

Key Responsibilities
Data Science Foundations (Critical)
  • Apply statistical, analytical, and modeling techniques to business problems
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, drivers, and anomalies
  • Design features grounded in data behavior and business context
  • Validate model assumptions and performance using appropriate metrics

Applied & Agentic AI Engineering
  • Design and build Agentic and autonomous AI systems that reason over structured data
  • Implement AI workflows that combine:
    • Data queries
    • Analytical logic
    • Business rules
    • Decision or recommendation outputs
  • Develop AI agents that can interpret trends, metrics, and model outputs
  • Ensure AI systems are explainable, observable, and production-ready

Data Engineering & Feature Pipelines
  • Partner with Data Architects and Engineers to build AI-ready datasets
  • Engineer and maintain feature pipelines using SQL, Python, and BigQuery
  • Ensure feature freshness, lineage, and quality
  • Work with orchestration tools to support reliable AI workflows

Analytics & BI Integration
  • Align AI logic with semantic models and business metrics
  • Enable AI systems to consume BI-layer outputs (e.g., Looker metrics)
  • Ensure AI-driven insights are consistent with executive dashboards
  • Support AI-assisted analytics and decision intelligence use cases

Product & POD Collaboration
  • Work within an Agile POD with Data Architecture, Engineering, BI, and Product
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical and AI-driven solutions
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and delivery commitments
  • Act as a thought partner to Product and Data leadership

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
  • 7+ years of experience with a career progression from Data Science to AI Engineering
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
    • Applied data science and statistical modeling
    • Python for modeling and AI workflows
    • Advanced SQL
    • BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Proven experience building production-grade AI systems
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Feature engineering and data pipelines
    • Semantic models and analytical metrics
    • AI systems operating on structured data
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Experience working with U.S.-based stakeholders
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Agentic or autonomous AI frameworks
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow
  • Exposure to BI tools (Looker / Looker Studio)
  • Experience in product-centric or POD-based teams
