Senior Data Platform/DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Senior Data Platform/DevOps Engineerto join a leading company in the oil and gas industry.

In this role, you will work alongside Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Engineers to understand their technical needs and help translate them into reliable, scalable data platform solutions.

You will contribute to building, maintaining, and improving Enterprise Data Platform components — including custom data and platform products that enhance reliability and accessibility — with guidance from senior team members where needed.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud data infrastructure
• Build and improve custom data and platform products that increase reliability, accessibility, and ease of use for internal teams
• Implement and support monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance
• Assist with performance tuning and optimization of data platform components and storage engines
• Apply data security best practices, including AAA, encryption, and secrets management to protect sensitive information
• Communicate with internal customers (Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Engineers) to gather feedback and support their day-to-day needs
• Support platform upgrade and migration activities in line with the development roadmap

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in similar roles (DevOps, DataOps, or DBA), including hands-on experience building custom data and platform products for reliability and accessibility
• Background in Linux administration and core DevOps tooling
• Expertise in Kubernetes (K8S), Git, and Vault for secrets management
• Proficiency in distributed storage administration, including Ceph, along with object stores
• Competency in CloudNativePG (CNPG), MongoDB, Neo4j, or etcd
• Familiarity with data platform tools such as Trino, Apache Airflow, or Apache NiFi
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Nice to have

• Skills in CI/CD pipelines, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Understanding of Data Lakehouse architecture on on-premises, hybrid, and/or cloud infrastructure
• Knowledge of MinIO (S3 compatible) and Apache Iceberg
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis
• Familiarity with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka
• Capability to use Terraform and/or Ansible
