Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Modeler with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing and managing enterprise-level data models for electric utility operations. The Database Modeler will be responsible for designing, modeling, and optimizing database structures to support EMS (Energy Management System) platform services. This role involves creating logical and physical data models, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with application and integration teams to deliver robust and scalable database solutions for EMS operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop logical and physical data models for EMS platform services.
- Analyze EMS business requirements and translate them into efficient database structures.
- Ensure data integrity, normalization, and performance optimization across all models.
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and integration teams to align database design with EMS architecture.
- Define and implement data standards, naming conventions, and documentation.
- Support ETL processes, data migration, and integration with external systems.
- Conduct performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization for large datasets.
- Participate in testing and validation of database components during EMS system integration.
- Provide technical support during deployment and post-go-live phases.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong experience in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner).
Proficiency in RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data governance.
Expertise in SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with ETL tools and data migration strategies.
Experience in EMS systems or similar energy management platforms preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site testing, commissioning, and customer support.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in EMS platform services or energy sector implementations.
Knowledge of market services and EMS integration.
Understanding of energy operations and compliance requirements.
Additional Requirement:
Travel: Candidate should be willing to travel to client sites or project locations as required for workshops, testing, and deployment activities. Travel will be occasional and based on project needs.
