Position Overview
Voluble Systems is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Governance Implementation Lead to implement and operationalize an enterprise Data Governance program for a major public-sector organization.
The consultant will lead the implementation of Quest Erwin Data Intelligence, including enterprise data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, governance workflows, and integrations with enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate must have personally configured and deployed enterprise data governance platforms, led technical implementations, and established operational governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, and production deployment of Quest Erwin Data Intelligence.
· Establish an enterprise Data Governance operating model aligned with approved governance directives.
· Configure business glossaries, data catalogs, metadata repositories, role-based access controls, and approval workflows.
· Implement automated metadata harvesting and synchronization using native connectors, APIs, or custom integrations.
· Integrate the governance platform with enterprise data warehouses, Oracle, SQL Server, Tableau, and other enterprise systems.
· Establish end-to-end data lineage, source-to-target mappings, data classifications, and ownership assignments.
· Define and operationalize responsibilities for Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Custodians.
· Develop stewardship workflows, governance procedures, and operational reporting dashboards.
· Lead stakeholder workshops, pilot implementations, user acceptance testing, and production rollout.
· Develop training materials, administrator documentation, implementation runbooks, and knowledge-transfer plans.
· Provide project status reporting, risk tracking, and executive updates.
Required Qualifications
· 10+ years of enterprise data management, data architecture, or data engineering experience.
· 5+ years of relevant Data Governance, metadata management, or enterprise catalog implementation experience.
· Hands-on implementation experience with Quest Erwin Data Intelligence, including configuration, metadata cataloging, and production deployment.
· Strong experience with data lineage, business glossaries, technical metadata, and data classification.
· Experience integrating governance platforms with SQL Server, Oracle, enterprise data warehouses, and BI tools.
· Experience implementing metadata harvesting, connectors, APIs, and automated synchronization.
· Working knowledge of governance operating models, data ownership, stewardship, and approval processes.
· Ability to independently lead implementation activities and collaborate with business and technical teams.
· Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with IBM DataStage, Boomi, ServiceNow, Workday, Maximo, Trapeze, or ArcGIS.
· Experience implementing governance platforms in cloud or on-premises environments.
· Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK and enterprise data management practices.
· Experience in public-sector, transportation, or regulated environments.
· Relevant Erwin or data management certifications.
