Location: Charlotte, NC 28203 (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer with strong expertise in Python, PySpark, Spark, and Big Data technologies. This role involves designing and developing new features within an existing data engineering framework, implementing complex business logic, and delivering robust data transformation solutions.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience with Spark, PySpark, and Big Data ecosystems

• Expert-level Python programming skills

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

• Ability to write efficient, scalable, standalone scripts based on business requirements

• Strong analytical and debugging skills to troubleshoot complex software issues

• Experience with AWS preferred (not mandatory)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Detailed Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance data engineering pipelines using PySpark and Python

• Implement data transformation logic and integrate new features into existing frameworks

• Develop standalone Python/PySpark scripts aligned with business rules

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Optimize performance of existing data workflows and resolve production issues

• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability

• Work in a hybrid setup, with 2 days per week onsite in Charlotte, NC

Minimum Experience Required

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering
