Senior Data Developer (Snowflake / Spark / Scala)
Location: Remote (US)
Type: Contract, through April 2027 (40 hrs/week)
Employment: W2 only. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

About the Role
A large healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Developer with strong Snowflake and Spark/Scala experience to design, build, and maintain data-driven applications. You will lead development efforts, oversee work results, and serve as a technical resource and mentor for other developers across the full software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain data solutions using Snowflake and Spark/Scala
• Document detailed system specifications and technical designs
• Participate in unit testing, release procedures, and maintenance of internally developed applications
• Evaluate and performance test purchased products and tools
• Build IT controls into applications to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Lead development efforts, review work results, and provide training and technical guidance to other developers

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in technical design and coding
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Scala
• Proficiency in more than one object-oriented language, such as Java, Python, or Scala
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, documentation, and change management
• Proficiency with version control tools such as Git
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
• Strong analytical, communication, and independent decision-making skills
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or financial services domain experience
• Experience with big data tools such as Kafka, Hive, or Hadoop
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
• Experience mentoring or leading other developers
